# Checkout link

> Send the traveler to a page Jinko hosts to review the trip and pay.

Use a checkout link when a person should review the trip and enter the payment details themselves.

Jinko hosts the payment page. The traveler sees the trip and its combined total, then completes the payment in the browser. Your system never collects or handles payment details.

## How it works

1. The agent builds the trip and receives its `trip_id`.
2. The agent calls `checkout` (or `POST /v1/checkout`) with that `trip_id`.
3. Checkout returns a `checkout_url`.
4. The agent sends or opens the link for the traveler.
5. The traveler reviews the trip and pays on the hosted page.

Checkout books nothing and charges nothing. Until the traveler pays, the trip has no booking and no `booking_ref`.

## After the traveler pays

Jinko starts the booking as soon as the payment succeeds. You do not call anything to confirm the payment.

Read the trip (`get_trip`, or `GET /v1/trip/{trip_id}`) to follow `booking_state` and to get the Jinko booking reference `booking_ref` once it exists.

## Keep the link current

Send the traveler the `checkout_url` from the latest checkout. If the travelers or the selected ancillaries change, call checkout again: it prices a new quote and returns a new `checkout_url` for it.
